Our story
Vision & Values
- Cultural Preservation: We honor our roots by preserving traditional dances, songs, and customs that have defined the Bakweri people for generations.
- Empowerment: By fostering educational programs and skill-building workshops, we empower women and youth to reach their full potential.
- Community Development: Through healthcare initiatives, academic recognition programs, and peace-building events, we work tirelessly to improve the quality of life in our community.
- Global Outreach: With branches such as FAWONE USA, we extend our mission beyond national borders, ensuring that the Fako spirit thrives in the diaspora.
FAWONE was established to address the challenges faced by women and girls in the Fako Division and beyond. We believe that empowering women is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and ensuring sustainable development. Our organization is built on the pillars of peace, education, empowerment, and leadership.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a cohesive, supportive network that:
Preserves Culture: Celebrates and safeguards the artistic and cultural expressions of the Fako heritage.
Builds Community: Initiates programs that support education, healthcare, and economic growth within the Fako region.
Empowers Women: Provides platforms for leadership and personal development, encouraging women to lead transformative projects.
Fosters Global Connections: Unites Fako women locally and abroad, exemplified by the launch of FAWONE USA in Maryland on October 5, 2024.
